Wedding speeches can make anyone nervous. Whether you are the best man, or the father of the bride, giving wedding speeches sets butterflies fluttering in the stomach of most people. There are a few tips you can follow to make your wedding speeches simple and effective.
When you are giving wedding speeches, it is important to enunciate. If you are in a large room, this becomes even more important. You want everyone to hear you, but you also want them all to know what it is you are saying. If you stand up and mutter into a microphone, nobody is going to be able to tell what you are saying, thus ruining your speech. By enunciating, and speaking slowly, everyone will hear exactly what it is you have to say.
If you are in a large room, or even in a small room with plenty of people, it is important to speak loudly when giving wedding speeches. The reception may not give you the option of a microphone, making it even more important for you to speak up, otherwise some people will not be able to hear you. If you want to give a memorable speech, you must make sure everyone hears it in the first place!
The longer you stand up giving wedding speeches, the more likely you are to become nervous. Besides this, nobody is going to want to sit through your hour-long tale of the groom as a child. Be brief, and say what you need to say. It would be unfair to monopolize time that others would like to use to say a few words. By being brief you will allow these others to have their chance, and you won't have to be standing up in front of everyone any longer than you have to!
Enunciation, speaking loudly, and being brief are all important tips to follow when giving wedding speeches. Remember to be true to your heart, and not just ramble on about nonsense. Everyone will appreciate your easy to hear, easy to understand, and short wedding speeches much more than they would a long, mumbles, quiet speech.
