There are many options when it comes to a wedding location. You can go traditional and have your wedding in a church, or you could decide to hold your wedding outside. Almost any location in the world can be used for a wedding; it is all up to your own taste. You can even host a wedding with a location theme that isn't anywhere near the location you are basing the theme on!
If you are interested in a traditional wedding, you can consider a church. You could pick the church you attend, or any other church that you like. Most of these places will allow you to hold your wedding there, even if you are not a member of their particular religion. Churches can be beautiful places to hold a wedding, especially if you choose an older cathedral style church. If you wish to hold your wedding in a church, but still be at a different location, you could pick a church in an entirely different country!
Holding your wedding outside has become an increasingly popular option as well. You can hold the wedding at sunset, leaving a beautiful view in the background, or you could host it at sunrise. The options are limitless. You can pick almost any outside location, whether it is a field, a park, or a bluff overlooking the ocean. If you see someplace that you think would be great for your wedding, write it down and find out what it would take to use that place for your location.
Many people with a foreign heritage enjoy having a wedding based on their ancestor's weddings. This can include decorating your location, as it would appear in their homeland. Even if you are not in Scotland, you can have a Scottish wedding. Consult a family member who knows what a Scottish (or whatever nationality you are thinking of) wedding would look like when choosing a location and decorations.
Wedding locations are a major part of the process. Finding the perfect location can mean the different between a beautiful wedding and a mundane wedding. Remember, any location can be used for a wedding, so long as you follow the rules and obtain the proper permissions.
